<Peter> Good morning! END
<Peter> Actually, I feel somewhat ill ... no idea what it is, may see a doctor
later today but wanted to attend the chat. END
> Sorry to hear that Peter: make sure you're in top form for our visit next
*** larsson (~larsson@tenma.dsri.dk) has joined channel #jemxadr
> week!
> Also, I'm sorry about the incorrect executable name on that last delivery:
<larsson> Morning folks. Sorry to be a few min. late. END
> just trying to get the damned thing out the door as quickly as possible. END
> Any one heard any signs of life from Helsinki recently? END
<Peter> It wasn't a big problem per se, but caused a bit of a stir here since
David then first asked everyone if he should accept the new name or stick to
the old (after all we have had name changes before). END
<njw> HI
> Hi Stefan: are you having email problems? I've been trying to send you the
> delivery module of the j_src_spectrum executable, and the server simply
> refuses to accept it. Any idea what the problem could be? END
<larsson> To CA: I have not noticed any problems. Please try again. Let me know
> Peter: `we have had name changes before' is putting it VERY mildly! END
<larsson> when if it does nor work. Size should not be a problem I think.
> I'll go and rustle up Allan. Could one of you get on the blower to Sami
> or Juhani? END
<Peter> I'll try a call. END
*** allan (~allan@apollo.dsri.dk) has joined channel #jemxadr
<Peter> Sami isn't in yet and Juhani's phone is busy ... END
> Yes, that's just what I found too. END
> So let's get started with the agenda for next week: I'll be there all
> week, what about you others? Everyone give an answer please END
<Peter> I'll be here ;-) END
> All week PEter? END
<Peter> At least that was my intention. END
<larsson> I will arrive Tuesday afternoon and leave Friday evening. END
> That's good Stefan: could we get some time together to talk about
> j_src_lc and j_src_spectrum? END
<larsson> To CA: Yes. END

> Hi Sami! We're just discussing when we'll each be in Geneva, and what we
> should do with that time. END
<huovelin> hello everybody ! Finally I managed to join the chat END
<smaisala> Hi all. Have I missed something important? END
> Hi Juhani, it's a long time since we've heard from you. END
> So when will Juhani and Sami be in Geneva next week, which days? END
<huovelin> I just got 1MFIM more for JEM-X FM END
<huovelin> THAT's what I have been doing lately, begging for more funding ...
<smaisala> I will be there at Monday to Friday. END
<huovelin> for our glorious instrument END
> MFIM = million finnish marks????? I'm impressed. END
> Congratulations Juhani - let's hope the instrument lives up to your efforts!
<huovelin> YES !, It is expensive to work on novel technology END
> END
<Peter> Good job Juhani! END
> So will you be joining us in Geneva Juhani? END
<larsson> I have got a back-to-back ticket which I can use for a
<larsson> second visit 21-23 november. Is that useful Peter?
<larsson> Or should I try to change that? END.
<Peter> Looks OK to me, but what about the others? END
<Peter> Btw: Allan, Niels Joergen what days will you be here? END
<njw> I might have problems coming next week. My father is ill and needs an
operation
<njw> so I am not sure whether I can come. END
<Peter> I'm sorry to hear that. END
> I think Petter will be hear tues, weds, thurs for QLA plus integration, but
> I can't find his email right now. END
> Okay, so the week's shaping up something like this:
> Monday: Integration CAO, PK, SM
> Tuesday: Morning Integration CAO,PK,SM,PN Afternoon: QLA CAO, PK,PN
> Wednesday: ROOT/OSM workshop: CAO, PK, PN, SM, AH
> Thurday: SDAST meeting: CAO, PK, SM, AH. Integration PN
<huovelin> what is the minimum time to attend the meetings ? END
> Friday: Integration CAO, PK, SM
> That depends a little on the agendas I suppose, Juhani END
> Does the overall plan for the week look right to everyone? Have I left
anything
> out? END
> Yes, I've left SL out Tuesday through Friday. END
<Peter> Looks OK. Wednesday should also be fine for a ROOT/OSM workshop. END
<larsson> OK. END
<Peter> I must admit some practical problems though:
<Peter> Currently they have been hacking up parts of the floor downstairs for
repairs.
<Peter> This means our big 'visitors room' is not usable right now and I do
not know about next week.
> If I make up a QLA agenda and circulate it to PN and PK, can you make a list
> of integration activities Peter? END
<Peter> While I guess we can squeeze in people for the integration work in
various offices, having a hands-on ROOT course in a sufficiently large room may
turn out to be difficult. But I will see what we can set up. END
> Who will be doing the workshop? Reiner? Bruce? END
<Peter> Regarding integration activities the biggest problem is that I had
counted on being in full shape and hard at work this week writing scripts.
We'll see how that works out ... END
> Yes, I think we all feel a little behind at the moment.......END
<Peter> We haven't really made an agenda, but yes it would be Bruce on ROOT
usage and ISDC Tools in general and Reiner demonstrating Interactive OSM. END
> Okay, so what about the agenda for the SDAST meeting? END
<Peter> Stephane might also give a short presentation on correct handling of
times, maybe as part of the SDAST meeting.
<Peter> I see two major blocks:
<Peter> (1) V2 status and what we do to catch up with delays
<Peter> (2) Plans for V3: software definition, schedule
<Peter> END
> We also each need to give a status for our work. Also: status of ADD, and
> status of DDD, and the AI list needs weeding pretty badly. END
<Peter> Anyone else with an agenda item ? END
> Schedule in general needs discussing. And integration status. END
> Please, you quiet people must have some suggestions too: what are your
> concerns? END
> Okay, if there really are no other suggestions I'll make an agenda and
> circulate it. END
> So now for STATUS OF V2 DELIVERIES ( yes, yet again!). As I see it we're only
> missing a few imaging executables now: have you an ETA on the NJW? END
> the = them END
> Hello? Anyone there? END
<njw> Well, yes I'll redeliver j_ima_shadowgram and j_ima_basic_recon tomorrow
and
<njw> j_ima_src_find probably friday END
<Peter> That sounds promising! END
<njw> May I take this opportunity to tell Stefan, that finally I have the
function
> So what about j_ima_cor_intensity and j_ima_refined_recon? END
<njw> to calculate the throughput from any point on the dectector to any point
on the
* njw sky that you need for your software. I'll mail it to you later. END
<larsson> Soundsgreat NJ. END
<njw> Reply to CAO: j_ima_cor_intensity will take a week more ,
j_ima_refined_recon
<njw> is a V3 and I have no ETA yet END
> So we'll be all complete by the end of September? That's not SO bad is it
> Peter? How are the other instruments doing (be candid here, I can always
> edit the transcript!) END
<Peter> Well, I should have a first full integration by then and will spend a
majority of the last week at Darmstadt ... END
<Peter> SPI has delivered quite a bit. OMC is slowgoing for such a few
executables.
<Peter> IBIS has been known to be late for a long time, but with some new
people there is new hope. END
<Peter> So I do place a lot of hope on next week and that we will manage
> So where do we stand in the delivery league? END
<Peter> to patch together a lot of stuff rather quickly. END
<Peter> Hard to tell, without scanning the delivery notes again.
<Peter> I'd say roughly equal with SPI, with OMC falling behind. END
> Okay, leading on from that, whats our V1/V2 integration status? END
<Peter> V1: Tess says that everything delivered has been integrated.
> That's great! END
<Peter> V2: No real work done yet, due to other worries like conferences, OSim,
 ... END
> So we've really got our work cut out next week? END
<Peter> Well, ideally I would be throwing myself at these scripts this week
<Peter> unearth a myriad of small problems (one always does),
<Peter> and resolve them with you next week.
> Okay, in that case, we won't go through the AI list now, but you should all
<Peter> But feeling queasy and somewhat shaky without clear symptoms makes me
doubt how far I get ... :-( END
> read through it: that's your homework for this week, READ THROUGH THE AI LIST
> AND MAKE SURE YOU'VE DONE ALL YOUR AI'S END
<larsson> I will do my reading CA. Right now I have to leave thou. Have to
catch
> Last on the agend for this meeting: updating jemx.h: Am I the only person
<larsson> a train. So unless you have some question for me now I will logout...
END
> who uses this? I'm adding to it all the time: data structure name definitions,
> instrument parameters etc. etc. Why do I get so little input from the rest of
> you? What do you want in this file? END
<Peter> Well, you are doing such a thorough job, the rest of us hardly needs to
 do anything ;-) END
> I don't believe that for a minute, Peter! Any defined quantity you use in
> your executables to describe the instrument or our data structures should be

> Please look at it and let me know what's missing. END
> Any comments? END
<njw> OK, I'll do an effort to contribute and make better use of jemx.h END
> Thank you NJW, END
> Any other business? Comments? Or shall we all just get back to work? END
<huovelin> By the way, I have a new family member, from yesterday on:
boy,3770g/52cm END
<Peter> CONGRATULATIONS!!! END
> Congratulations! what's `boy' called? END
<huovelin> No name, yet END
<njw> Congratulations, Juhani END
> Be sure to bring photos with you next week - or send some along with Sami! END
<Peter> A side note from me: I'd like to invite all present over to our
appartment on Wednesday evening.
<Peter> We will organize the transport somehow. END
> Great! YOu won't get us TOO drunk will you????END
<Peter> I'll only open the bottles :-) END
<huovelin> Thank you for the invitation. I'll bring photos if I get them
processed by then END
<Peter> Food will be simple, as we are both working. END
> We expect a whole album Juhani! END
<Peter> Bringin photos is a good idea. END
> I'm fine with cornflakes END
<huovelin> How about Tortilla chips and some hot sauce ? END
> For the baby? END
<huovelin> No, there wont be any of it left after I have done with them END
<Peter> OK, we will see what we put together. END
<Peter> Any other business? END
<huovelin> No END
<Peter> P.S. Juhani - please pass on the congratulations to your wife which
probably had a harder time than you with this new success ;-) END
<huovelin> I'll do that, Peter. Thanks alot, you're right about the hard time
:-) END
> Well, it sounds like we're going to have cosy time in Geneva at least, so
> see you all there! END
<smaisala> See You! END
<Peter> See you soon! END
