<smaisala:#jemxadr> juhani is not available today, so let
<larsson:#jemxadr> Good morning everyone. END
#jemxadr> Let's begin with point one: timing and agenda for the ISSW School.END
#jemxadr> First I should say that we'll be arriving from Copenhagen first on Monday mornin
+ing. The tickets are booked and can't be changed because we've used two sets of cheap tic
+kets back to back END
<Peter:#jemxadr> When exactly will you arrive? END
#jemxadr> If the flight is on time we'll be at ISDC by about 11.30. END
<allan:#jemxadr> Maybe even before that :-) END
<larsson:#jemxadr> OK. I will arrive late sunday and leave wednsday morning. END
#jemxadr> I'm leaving wednesday evening because I hoped to come a little further with inte
+gration by staying on a little longer END
#jemxadr> I've done quite a bit with DAL now, and I don't think I'm in need of any introdu
+ctory stuff, if you want to cover that on Monday morning END
<njw:#jemxadr> I have not booked my flight yet, but I would very much prefer to leave mond
+ay morning END
<allan:#jemxadr> Ok, can't we then have an introduction from BON
<allan:#jemxadr> on Monday at 10., say, and from Don JEnnings on DAL etc after taht
<allan:#jemxadr> WHen we arrive , we can go on from there. (assuming Peters agenda)
<Peter:#jemxadr> Another proposal: Maybe we start Monday afternoon with the workshop and u
+se Monday morning for a demonstration of Reiner's software to Juhani and Sami END
<allan:#jemxadr> I am uncertain, if I can participate for various reasons, especially
<Peter:#jemxadr> Stefan will surely also find something to discuss with somebody END
<allan:#jemxadr> with the family END.
<allan:#jemxadr> To Peter : Maybe a good idea!
<allan:#jemxadr> Since the OSM is closely related to Performance Suite. END
<larsson:#jemxadr> Sounds reasonable to me too. END
#jemxadr> Sounds good! I don't want to miss anything if I can help it - there's bound to b
+e
#jemxadr> some details that are unknown to me END
#jemxadr> But I don't need to know that much about OSM, so that sounds great for Juhnai an
+d Sami END
<allan:#jemxadr> IF I can manage to come, I plan to leave again Monday evening,
<allan:#jemxadr> but I would like to hear the TL inputs, so maybe we can reshuffle the
<allan:#jemxadr> agenda a little in that case. END
<Peter:#jemxadr> Yes, surely. I just checked with Reiner and he's willing to have this S/W
+ presentation on Monday morning. END
<allan:#jemxadr> Peter, will it be OK with the ISDC people, if we postponed the
<allan:#jemxadr> detailed agenda until later next week?
<allan:#jemxadr> END
<Peter:#jemxadr> I guess yes. Some of them are currently in Darmstadt (IBIS matters) anyho
+w, so all discussions would happen next week. END
<allan:#jemxadr> (I think the issues are well covered, but we may want to have them in
<allan:#jemxadr> different order)END
#jemxadr> If we need to move the more general stuff into Monday, I can always do basic int
+egration or other stuff on Wednesday. END
<Peter:#jemxadr> Re-shuffling should not cause a serious problem. END
<allan:#jemxadr> Fine, END
<Peter:#jemxadr> OK. So the baseline is that we think the contents are ok and we'll fix th
+e actual times when Allan knows if he's coming.
#jemxadr> So can you develope a re-shuffled agenda by next Thursday, and we'll all approve
+ it during next Friday's chat, Peter? END
<Peter:#jemxadr> Allan can we fix this up to Thursday? On Friday we have an excursion to C
+ontraves in Zuerich (they build the INTEGRAL payload module). END
<allan:#jemxadr> Yes END
<Peter:#jemxadr> Shall we have a chat on Thursday? END
<allan:#jemxadr> OK with meEND
<njw:#jemxadr> OK for me END
<smaisala:#jemxadr> OK with me END
<larsson:#jemxadr> OK with me too. END
#jemxadr> Okay, agenda ready Wednesday evening, chat thursday 9.30.Okay? END
<Peter:#jemxadr> OK with me. END
<larsson:#jemxadr> Yes. END
<smaisala:#jemxadr> OK END
#jemxadr> So next chat is Thursday, instead of Friday. Point two: New data structures: how
+'s that going Peter? and what's the URL for that page (I can't find it) END
<Peter:#jemxadr> No real progress since Stephane was much too busy
<Peter:#jemxadr> Have you tried http://isdc.unige.ch/doc/tec/add/add-w/data/list2html.cgi?
+add-w+JMXi ? END
#jemxadr> I'll try that. One question: is ISDC planning to provide template files for each
+ of the official data structures ? END
<Peter:#jemxadr> Yes. Stephane's documentation scheme is based on template files, so as so
+on as you have detailed documentation you know a corresponding template file exists. END
#jemxadr> Great! That really simplifies things. Are any template file available yet? END
<Peter:#jemxadr> Yes. I'll see to that you get them all, ok? END
#jemxadr> Thanks, Peter. Next point: SAX WFC software: where to test it out, when, an dwho
+ to talk to END
#jemxadr> (Please forgive the typing quality - it's hard to type and sneeze at the same ti
+me - stupid cold!) END
<allan:#jemxadr> The decision about that is a bit premature, I think. Maybe
<allan:#jemxadr> we can discuss that when we meet in Geneva? END
<Peter:#jemxadr> Sounds reasonable. END
<allan:#jemxadr> (We have problems gettting all the money for that maney travels here)END
#jemxadr> Also, finding time - remember we're planning an official delivery in April - tha
+t's a lot of documentation too! END
<Peter:#jemxadr> The point is: Stefan already has a second flight to Geneva by a back-to-b
+ack flight. So NJW might do the same and get to flights for one. END
<allan:#jemxadr> We understand that END
<Peter:#jemxadr> So, discounting my previous statement, it might be a good idea to discuss
+ this now. END
#jemxadr> I think this is most important for the image reconstruction people, so they shou
+ld decide on a meeting. END
<Peter:#jemxadr> From my POV it would be sufficient if NJW, SL and me met at that time.
<Peter:#jemxadr> NJW probably needs to come anyhow to deliver his OSim code.
<Peter:#jemxadr> Any other interested party could then learn from them.
<Peter:#jemxadr> Hmm - except Juhani and Sami. END
<smaisala:#jemxadr> we have discussed about that (Juhani and I) Maybe we should discuss th
+at after this chat (by mail)?? END
<njw:#jemxadr> Alright, I'll make a trip to ISDC at the same time as Stefan (i.e. April 21
+-23) END
<allan:#jemxadr> We don't want to make plans for delivery - since ISDC is not
<allan:#jemxadr> ready to integrate our SW just preliminary this month, we
<allan:#jemxadr> doubt they will have the full system ready for us in about a month (consi
+dering easter holidays etc).
<allan:#jemxadr> Which means, that the details of delivery of V1 SW will be agreed later E
+ND
<Peter:#jemxadr> Yes, I'm sorry about that. The problem of one lacking S/W engineer
<allan:#jemxadr> It's allright, frankly, we are a bit proud of being
<allan:#jemxadr> ahead of ISDC (and we dont want to be too much ahead,
<allan:#jemxadr> since things can change) END
<Peter:#jemxadr> is really surfacing now. But I guess we will still ask you to have indivi
+dual executables ready and documented in April. END
<allan:#jemxadr> You may ask :-) END
<Peter:#jemxadr> Reiner Rohlfs is facingthe same problem for his executables and I guess s
+ome solution will be implemented within the next weeks. END
#jemxadr> I hope to have a complete delivery module ready by the end of March. Children, v
+iruses and acts of God are not accounted for however. END
<Peter:#jemxadr> That would be great and also put a nice amount of pressure on the
<Peter:#jemxadr> powers-that-be to assign manpower.
<Peter:#jemxadr> We're also hurt by the problem that the XMM project is not relieving
<Peter:#jemxadr> its clutches on DL as promised END
<Peter:#jemxadr> Summarizing: CAO will (probably) have a module ready end-of-March.
<Peter:#jemxadr> I will probably be ready end-of-April.
<Peter:#jemxadr> The exact time frame for actual integration is TBD and has to be discusse
+d during our workshop with the responsibles. END
#jemxadr> I will however, have to make other deliveries of this software to cope with chan
+ges by the instrument group - their plans are not
<allan:#jemxadr> And at the ISDC consortium meeting END
#jemxadr> particularly firm yet
<Peter:#jemxadr> To CAO: That's OK, updates are foreseen. END
#jemxadr> I'd hoped that they knew already exactly how they will process the data on-board
+, but after meetings this week and last, we've been made aware that things are still ina
+state of flux at that end of the pipeline. END
<Peter:#jemxadr> To Allan: Correct. But you will find that you have an unusual position if
+ your problem is delivering too early ... END
<allan:#jemxadr> :-) END
#jemxadr> So, last point AOB: any AOB? END
<Peter:#jemxadr> Nothing I can think of right now. END
#jemxadr> I'd like to say congratulations to Bruce on the birth of his son
#jemxadr> and especially to his wife who did all the work! END
#jemxadr> So please pass that on, Peter. END
<allan:#jemxadr> From me too END
<njw:#jemxadr> From all I guess END
<Peter:#jemxadr> OK, I will. END
#jemxadr> If that's all: have a good weekend everyone! Carry on coding! END
<njw:#jemxadr> Good bye - back on thursday END
<Peter:#jemxadr> Well, today I'll work for OMC and then I also have to prepare XMM proposa
+ls ... END
