Gain Notes for Revolution 510
	
JEM-X1: The unit was switched off for
all of the preceeding revolution and the gain relaxation that occurred during
this dormant period is clearly seen in the large gain increase that occurs when
the instrument is finally switched on. Gain fitting is very good for this
revolution and so long as there is no residual gain suppression from the period
of very high background, all the science data from this revolution should be 
useable. Whether there has been a long term effect on the calibration of the
instrument due to the severe space weather can first be determined by a Xenon
line analysis of the science data. Though there is a gentle upwards drift of
the Xenon line, its position across the revolution is within 3% of the ideal
value. The cause of this drift is not yet clear, but it could have to do with
charge redistribution after the long dormant period, the space weather itself
or some other effect.
